Pacific slumped to their third defeat in a row with a poor batting performance in Oxford. Oxford University CC paceman Khan was the pick of the bowlers with 4 wickets.
Pacific 114 all out (31 overs). M Picknett 37, Khan 4 wickets.
OUCC 117-3 (22.4 overs) Benson 56*, Khan 37, D Roberts 2 wickets.
Pacific won the toss and skipper Bastin decided to bat. Wickets fell regularly with only Miles Picknett (37) and Shayne Rees (11) reaching double figures. The pick of the Oxford University CC bowlers was Khan bowling at a good pace for his 4 wickets for 12 runs. Pacific closed on 114 all out after 31 overs, hoping for quick wickets in the OUCC reply.
Pacific hopes looked on the way to being answered, as Darryl Roberts trapped two batsmen in his opening spell. This brought Benson (56*) and Khan (37) together and they pushed towards the victory with some great hitting. The only ray of hope was Jon Brown trapping Khan lbw, but the damage was already done. Benson hit the winning runs with a straight six over the bowler's head.
