Opening bowlers Rob Allum & Adnan Mohammed tore out the heart & soul of VPJ's batting as their reply to Pacific's solid total of 136-3 never got off the ground. Debutant Adnan tore out & literally smashed Charlie's leg stump with his 1st ball for Pacific, wowing all around. This followed Rob's dismissal of danger man Freddie Barras for a duck as he spooned a full toss to Dougal DeKeller at mid on in the 1st over. Indeed, Dougal too was a hard man to keep out of the game having earlier scored 51 not out & then adding 2 catches in the VPJ innings. Adnan who went on to uproot & cartwheel Matthew's leg stump too with his very quick pace & Rob, who incidentally got the call that he'll be on Jonathan Ross this Friday during the match, extracted true seam movement, & took 3 wickets including 2 maidens, complemented each other superbly. Unfortunate for VPJ was the quality of bowling they faced as they certainly looked to have quality batting in their line up, Jonaid in particular impressed & was unlucky that one incredible hook over midwicket off Adnan went one bounce to the fence. But this was to be Pacific's day & all that was left was for Chinamy Marathe, another league debutant, to pick up the final 2 wickets in his only over, leaving Pacific comfortable winners with 7 overs in hand, thereby consolidating 2nd place in the group with 4 wins & 1 loss & with 4 games to go VIII :- Jim Davies, Rob Allum, Steve Emmins*+, Chinmay Marathe, Peter Hollman, Jonathan Campbell, Adnan & Dougal DeKeller.
Reserves:- Matt Holliday, Shayne Rees, Mark Herring, James Gleadow, Darryl Roberts, James Smith.
