The gods were with Pacific again as they won the toss and elected to bat. Using tactics of smash and see, then bat through the overs proved decent as Pacific lost their first wicket on 26, however it was mostly due to some wild bowling from Junaid. Bastin proving unlucky to slap it into the left hand of Asad, and Chandler threw his wicket away trying to smash everything for the team. No other batsmen proved useful apart from Atkin and Long who pulled, drove, and forced their way to give Pacific an above par score of 156.
With boundaries needed to win, Masiha swished and swooshed at everything but ultimately failed to make contact, and proved more adept at creating some much wanted fanning in the humid evening. With the dew heavily soaking the ball, and the darkness looming, Masiha never got close. Adnan and Sahib were in the runs, but only due to very conservative field placings ensuring that boundaries were at a minimum. Gleadow bowled excellent line and length, as did Long. However, it was Atkin who proved that there are indeed some great Aussie all-rounders out there...
Unbeaten in the League, the team continue their merry way up the yellow brick road. However, the scarecrows are bound to be around the corner at some point if catches aren't held.
