I spoke to Andrew at Highgate CC following my mail to them on Tuesday that we only had 7 & to see wether any of our old friends would be available to play for us. To my surprise they are struggling to complete not only an XI to play us but sides for 2 XIs playing away. I therefore agreed that to help them out too we would agree to pull the plug on the fixture which is sad but sensible as the forecast is poor & that the game is far more vulnerable to poor weather early season & a protective groundsman.

I know that you'll be as disappointed as myself so am not closing the door entirely & if any new players present themselves we can still get a game through the conference but that looks slim at this juncture - there are 38 players who have told me that they are not available !
