Pacific v Fulmer  Regular fixture < previous | next >
Saturday 7-Aug-2010 2pm at Fulmer Recreation Ground
Lost 3 wickets

Rain delayed the start for 30 mins. Pacific won the toss and batted. The two Petes put together a good partnership and ran well. At drinks 70/1 was a solid base. However, wickets fell quickly including key middle order bats Bastin and Tempany both LBW and at 86/5 things looked shaky. The tail wagged with Nuggsy and the Stig have a particularly useful partnership. Nuggsy ran himself out off the last ball going for a second - the usual run until run out of the last ball does not work if only one attempts it! A bemused Aroon understandably stayed well in his crease as the screaming banshee came his way.

A very nice tea was heartily wolfed down - cake and samosas particularly impressive.

Nuggsy bowled a tight opening spell exploiting some variable bounce without threatening a repeat of his Bank of England performance. Brown bowled too short on occasion but took one for the team - 'bowled Brown caught Brown Junior' was one description as the prone bowler recovered from taking a return catch via his nether regions. Aroon benefited from a switch of ends, Brown did not and Aroon got three wickets but the match always seemed to just drifting away. Credit to their number three Uzair for his powerful batting.
