The pitch had sweltered under the covers, the hour had come for the seam bowlers as the pitch offered plenty of seam as well as swing friendly conditions. Denham hadn't scored below 220 all season & the moral victory was bowling them out for almost 1/2 that. Darryl Roberts & Adrian Palmer picked 3 apiece & spinner Allan Roberts a couple.
However, the opening salvo from Lucius Faisal certainly had them hopping around which certainly had an effect. Denhamıs bowlers then focused & Nichols & Fazio's opening spells were even more decisive than Pacific's. At 14-4 the only target was 31 v Caroline 12/8/84.In the event, David Murray top scored & was 7th out with the score on 50. The last 3 wickets put on 26 but overall the batting disappointed. PH ³I was disappointed with the batting but there were promising comebacks from Matt Holliday & Lucius Faisal. The bowlers did well& the fielding was fine. With some batting practice we have a bright 2nd half of the season to look forward to²
