Pacific eased further in the right direction up the table following another close game against Old Fallopians last night.
Old Fallopians won the toss and elected to bat. Lucius made an early breakthrough but a second wicket stand of some 70 runs put the Fallopians in a strong position, not helped by some sloppy fielding. On the retirement of Fallopian's opener on reaching 50 the run rate slowed thanks to some effective medium pace from Rob and the wickets started to tumble. Campbell
took 3 wickets (but was hit for 6 in two balls by Karen of Fallopians) but the highlights were two fine run outs, assists claimed by Darryl and Pete
and Fallopians crumbled to 121 with 2 overs to spare. A record 7 catches were dropped all over the field.

With the skies darkening, Dave and Lucius were instructed to get on with it; this they proceeded to attack the bowling with gay abandon; Lucius retiring
following a belligerent 50 and Dave perishing in the outfield when on 38.
At this point Pacific had scored 100 in 10 overs but then the innings went into a kind of hibernation with wickets falling but the club was seen through with 4 balls to spare by Pete (16*) and Darryl (again seeing the innings home).
Vice-Captain Murray was quoted afterward "I was gutted to get out when I did but Lucius saw us home; the whole team to get there an hour before the next
game for extra fielding practice"
VIII: Darryl Roberts. David Murray, Peter Hollman, Rob Bastin, Steve Emmins+, Steve Lay, Lucius Faisal, Jonathan Campbell*.
