After the 1st over, who would have thought it - a maiden from the consistently impressive Conrad Chandler. Unfortunatley, his triumphant cry was echoed only by the DC seamer Sibet as Pacific collapsed almost without trace.
With Rob Allum reporting hurt in an earlier skirmish, & Peter Hollman clearly needing to be somewhere else - like his sickbed - DC showed no mercy as Hollman's fielding bordered on the laughable - see Aus 20/20 performance - as 4 x 4s were let through. Meanwhile Roberts in particular lead the attack manfully. As Jonaid finally marked his 50 with a 6 over long off.
If heads didn't drop, that was certainly not the case at 19-4, there was no where to hide as Kilan & Sibet tore the batting asunder. Thanks to byes & a Captain's flash at least 32 was reached. 2 batsmen weren't happy believing that balls they'd spooned to short cover were too high. If one was marginal the other was not. True another thought wides signalled 6" outside off stump during Pacific's bowling was perverse - but to dwell on this would be sour grapes. The better stronger side won by a country mile. Opening Bowler Chandler said "Certainly was a shocker last night, a real shame..."
