In the warm glow in the afermath of the finla evening game that was a win against J P Morgan, the 8-a-side squad cast their votes & the emphatic winner of League Player of the Season was Jon Webley.

The Captain made the presentation to Jon who also clocked up his maiden acceptance speech. Meanwhile, Mr Chandler wanted to know how you get a cricket ball mounted... Don't worry Jon, they'll put it back together when they engrave it

For the statos amongst you Jon came 4th in the batting averages with 31.7 & making the highest aggregate of 317. With the ball he took 8 wickets at 22.62 including 5-16 against East End Cavaliers on the 19th July.

Voting:- 11 players attracted votes of which Jon was allocated 23. Joint Runners Up were Shayne Rees & Sammy Purcell with 7 each.

FOOTNOTE Just to add that although the Club did not get beyond the quarter final of even make the 1st division, the fact we won more games than we lost (7 to 6 + 1 no result) meant this could be judged to have been our best season since 2002 when the title itself was won. Congratulations indeed to Captain Rees & VC Chandler
