We maintained our unbeaten record in France (by the skin of our teeth at Damazan). The weather was not as good as on the last tour but it was better than that in England. We baked at Eymet but there were several showers.

Karting winner - Webley

Poker winners - Holliday and Gleadow

Player ratings -

9 - Webley - lots of runs apace and bowled very well, won the karting and cooked a good chilli

8.5 - Richards - we have a new 'Bevan'. Steve was not dismissed all tour. Wiehahn - super hundred and three catches at Damazan.

7.5 - Rademaker - run out by Pete but got a key wicket in his only game. Super barbecue.

7 - Holliday - several stumpings but a couple of hard chances missed as well. Cameo at Damazan injected much needed urgency into the innings. Very good at poker. A Jessop-Emmins - very steady spells of medium pace in the heat. Could have snaffled both oppo hundred makers early on if fielders had not let him down. S Emmins - batted well in his limited opportunities and fielded well. Tempany - skippered well, thumped 49 at St Aulaye. Bowling best compared to Harmison - great pace and bounce at times but radar more than a little wonky at others. Ball to send middle stump flying at Eymet was super.

6.5 - Pete Hollman - two good supporting knocks and a little unlucky with stumpings missed whilst bowling. The Stig - inspired bowling at Eymet but not so at Damazan. A Duthie - good knock at St Aulaye and great catch with injured hand at Eymet. Unfortunately drop of the hundred maker at Damazan probably cost us the game.

6 - Patel - usual reluctance to bat or bowl but battled sprained ankle in the field.

5 - Gleadow - leading wicket taker but Judas in chief with two catches whilst subbing for oppo and two drops whilst fielding for Pacific and did not bat.
