Just saw a great quote from Jon "I was there last Friday with Conrad and the ale on offer was superb as I imagine the food will be." so felt it needed postingup. More news on the venue will be here.

So here's what we know from Ali.......Hi Chaps Please find below the email I've had from Jesse, my friend who is head chef at Mall tavern, location of the End of Season Dinner.

Sadly I won't be able to join you on that evening, because of a work commitment, so whoever takes on the task of organising the evening should probably have this info as early as possible.

As a chef, I genuinely think that this is about the best value food in London, and there's a great vibe in the pub generally (its still a pub, and not a "gastro-pub" in my humble opinion, and serves proper beer)

The general idea is a selection of shared starters/snacks for the table, followed by a single main course (the cow pie is delicious) and then shared selection of puds. This should mean a straightforward service without the usual stresses and strains of big-table-ordering. I'm sure that with a bit of notice a veggie option could be arranged for those who need.

I'm happy to make another call to confirm the booking, menu and price, but somoene else (social sec?) will have to take over closer to the date to liase directly with the Mall tavern to confirm exact numbers, times etc.

Until then I've got a massively pregnant wife to take care of. All the best and obviously hope to see you all soon. Best wishes also to those of you who are also expecting new additions!

Both menus are fun, the beer can chicken could be another option, and they come grilled perching on different open cans of beer. Both menus are shared feasts, and are therefore quite interactive.
