2011 Annual Golf Tournament

So at the back end of November in what no man would call the height of Summer 2011, next year’s golf tournament was brought 6 months forward by popular consensus so that Darren could defend his title much as we’d all like to have gone to Perth (wonder how many courses there between here & there?)

The new course as tradition demands was chosen because of the enticing stew & dumplings & brandy as opposed to the 12 sets of water hazards that proliferated the course. But what a leveler. 13 shots between first & last must have been the closest in quite awhile.

The front 3 of Adrian, Darryl & Darren all lead in the clubhouse than the 2nd 4 ball. Only 1 birdie from the winner - Darryl, summed out the toughness of the course or just perhaps the wintry conditions. Nevertheless a course to go back to in the Summer.

Before the final places, the other winners were Allan with longest drive & Darren with nearest to the pin. Steve won the back 9 & darryl the front & overall. Aggod day & keen to get back when the snow melts.

1st Darryl Roberts. Gross score 102. Stapleford points 33. Winner of both scratch & handicap titles

2nd Adrian Duthie. 103 & 29.

3rd Darren Tempany 104 & 26

4th Jon Webley 107 & 31

5th Steve Emmins 111 & 27

6th Allan Roberts 112 & 27

7th Peter Hollman 115 & 22
