Soggy End To Golf Day as AD Shines

When I left the office at noon last Thursday it had ben a bright warm sunny day & it was clearly too much to ask for it to last. Some fearful glances at the forecast suggestd light rain at 7pm & heavy at 8pm - we could get awaay with this I thought. At least I did until the 5th hole at 4pm 3 hours early. Typical.

By then the front 4 ball - Adrian Duthie, Darryl Roberts, Jon Webley & myself had got good momentum in what was quite a pleasant & varied course at Bushey Hall in Watford. Definatley one to revisit. But my dried out card tells me that Adrian & Jon were the real contenders without knowing what was going on in the 2nd 4 ball of Tony Tambaraja, Steve Emmins, Steve Richards & Allan Roberts but conditions were such that the casual water on the greens only affected the 18th for the first 4 ball.

Steve Emmins picked up the nearest to the pin on the 2nd par 3. the only one to make it out of 8 of us!.

Jon Webley won the longest drive on the earmarked par 5 with a monster & there were other contenders.

As far as the bets went, Jon picked up the front 9 leaving Adrian the back 9, overall & a birdie for good measure!. And with a score of 85 & 39 points he was the deserved outright winner & Jon runner up. Looking forward to Denham GC in 2013.

1st Adrian Duthie 85 shots 39 stableford points.

2nd Jon Webley 94 & 33

3rd Peter Hollman 100 & 30

4th Steve Emmins n/k & 29

5th Darryl Roberts 102 & 28

6th Allan Roberts, Steve Richards & Tony Tambaraja. Shots & points TBC.

Many Thanks to Allan who organised the event on the 2011 winner's behalf Darryl.
