Pacific v Tower Ravens at Victoria Park Pitch 1  Tue 06-Jun-2000
Won by 43 runs

With both sides missing regulars, the difference was the quality of P's debutants.

P 142 -1 (16 overs) S Lay 43* M Ralph 48*
TR 99-5 (16). Dion 35. D Austin 4-0-15-3

Both Matthew Ralph with the bat & David Austin with the ball impressed to the extent that both have been selected for the 1st round cup match against Newham C this week. A 105 run partnership between Steve lay & Australian Matthew Ralph bolstered by 31 wides & 8 no balls tells the story as P totalled the biggest score of their league season.

League newcomers & current leaders were unable to attain the target of 9 an over thanks to steady opening spells from Mike Alexander & Adam Godwin. The latter again getting no luck as Darryl Roberts dropped 2 in the covers off successive balls. David Austin's spell however was decisive & was unlucky not to get a hatrick although he did get 3 wickets in 4 balls. Pacific now look forward to a solid cup run before mounting a sustained league challenge in the return fixtures next month.
