In a wonderfully ambient venue in Bermondsey as chosen by Club Captain & Social Sec David Murray, the annual Awards night took place last Friday.

The night itself is not all about winners but for the record, Jon Webley prised away the Player of the Season which Jim Davies has held for the last 4 years - Runner up was Kurt Rademaker.

Jon was also joint Tom Brown Best Newcomer with James Gleadow but the latter was awarded it solely by the Club Captain.

Fielder of the season was picked by Sammy Purcell despite Rob Bastin dominating the catching stats. Matt Calendar's generally solid ground fielding + that catch at UCS helped him make the Runners Up spot.

Sammy, who earlier in the year won the League Player of the Year now also jointly with Shayne Rees won the Most Improved Player(s). Runners up were Jim Davies & Jon Brown.

With so much young Islington blood dominating the trophies, the old guard can look forward to an even better 2006 as the club seeks to regain the heights of 2002 when 34 wins were recorded.
