Welsh county Glamorgan have won the NU First Division Championship at a canter - sealing the title with a week to spare. Like Pacific in the Victoria Park League - Glamorgan were a Second Division side last year.
This success follows Wales' easy win over England earlier in the year. Both sides were captained by Steve James - a former schoolmate of Pacific's Jim Davies.
"I'm delighted for Steve and the boys" commented Davies. "Why Crofty and some of the others are not in the England one-day side I'll never know - it's a disgrace! I know who the Aussies would fear most Down Under! Sadly that's about as likely to happen as Dave Murray beating me in our end-of-season race!" he concluded.
